Investing Apps -- Best Investing Applications

In this post, I discuss the four must-have investing apps to date.  Yes, there are some broker sites out there that are great too.  However, I didn’t include them.  Only the best investing applications in personal finance made this list.

1)  Bloomberg. This platform provides real-time quotes for the major stock indexes, stock quotes, commodities, currencies, and government bonds worldwide.  Therefore, this is an excellent application for global investors.  If you need it…Bloomberg has it. The application is simple to navigate and Bloomberg’s staff of top-notch journalists keeps you up to date with breaking business news and your investments.  Available For: Android, iPhone, iPad, and Blackberry

2)  Yahoo Finance. For many years I have used the data from Yahoo finance to complete analysis or create price charts on the cheap.  Great for  investors. This app is cool because it brings the world of Yahoo Finance to your mobile device.  It keeps you posted on the latest news, market indexes including NYSE and NASDAQ, quotes for stocks, and company news.  It also makes video from Yahoo’s Daily Ticker available.  However, the application doesn’t include Yahoo’s key statistics and analyst estimates at this time.  Available For: Android, iPhone, and Blackberry

3)  Morningstar. Morningstar has provided folks with useful research tools over the years.  So, it is no surprise their app provides most of these research tools to users on the go.  You get the star ratings, performance data, expenses, and information on the top holdings of a mutual fund.  The whole shebang for 8,100 ETFs and Mutual Funds.  However, the application does not include the fund screener or portfolio x-ray tools.  Available For: Android, iPhone, and Blackberry

4)  ETFdb. This is THE application for exchange-traded fund data.  You have access to research of over 1.100 ETFs.  The ETF Database has analysis and recommendations of what ETFs to buy and sell too.  You can look through any of the ETFs you like from stocks to bonds to currencies and make better decisions.  If you need more detailed analysis the app also links you to historical returns and facts with a simple click.  The only downer for me is its availability limitations. Either way, one of the best third-party apps.  Available For: Apple iPhone and iPad

In my opinion, these are the best investing apps on the block to date.  Check out a couple of these investing apps and you won’t be disappointed.  Most of them contain how-to guides and best of all cost NO money.  Bloomberg is my  favorite software because it is cross-platform and really keeps you on top of financial news.
