About Me

Welcome! To learn more about this website and the person behind it, read on…
Who I Am: My name is Jan Eric Petreczko and I’m a state employee who has been involved in personal finance for over 22 years.
My Background: My educational and work experiences are varied. I have a Bachelor of Business Degree (Summa Cum Laude) from Concordia University, proudly served in the US Army, and am an officer in the Texas Military Forces. My work experiences include waiting tables, call-centers, field engineering, music, training, and finance. I own La Moneda de Oro Investments and recently sold a lawn care service. I love creating content and businesses in my spare time.
Objectives For This Website: My primary goals for the website are to help people get out of debt and find the money to do it. I have learned much about personal finance the hard way: via trial and error and independent study. Getting out of debt is simple but not easy. My end goal is for people to learn to make informed, intelligent, and unemotional decisions about their finances, get out of debt, and become financially independent.
My Goals: To provide value and help others make better financial decisions, to be a good person and husband, and to obtain complete financial freedom.
What Makes You A Pro? I have spent years studying and living this stuff. Anyone who spends years of time studying, eliminating debt, living a frugal lifestyle, making more money than they spend, and living debt-free is a pro!
Ask yourself, “Am I living a debt-free life like this guy?” if yes, Great!! If not, we will get you there…but that reason alone should be good enough. I live and breathe personal finance and frugality every day and I do it because I love it.

Personal Achievements: The things I’m most proud of include being an Eagle Scout, graduating first in my class in business school while working full-time, completing Army Basic Training, and being an honor graduate in Officer Candidate School. Plus, completing ultra-marathon distances of up to 100 miles, paying off over $75,000 of debt in about two and a half years (using $68,000 combined salary)and living a virtually debt-free life (primary home note remains for now). I also take pride in having the courage to live a contrarian lifestyle, start my own businesses, and for marrying the most supportive woman in the world who has stood by me and still does.
What Is Your Strategy? In simple terms…there are no shortcuts. Spend less than you earn, pay off debt, and invest wisely.
What You Can Do To Help: If you like this site, please tell others about it. Also, please email me at jpetreczko@gmail.com and let me know what you like or how I am helping you (or not helping you in some manner).
More About Me: My favorite activities away from personal finance are music: listening and playing…visit www.clamsandclinkers.com for details. I enjoy running, Ross Training, poker, trading, marketing, and movies. I love to read about finance and success. Training and talking to willing people about reducing their debt, getting them back on track, and creating wealth is a passion of mine.
