Frugal Tips – LED Bulbs

The government is banning ALL incandescent bulbs come 2014.  They were energy hogs anyway! This year (late summer) bulbs using light-emitting diodes (LED) go on sale.  I hear these bulbs are awesome!  They are supposed to last much longer.  How much longer?  How about 15-20 years!  That is too cool, huh?  The bulbs use 80% less electricity than incandescent and halogen bulbs.  The only draw-back is that they have an upfront cost of about $30.  Personally, I think it is a great deal.  I load the lamp up and never look back for 15-20 years plus I save electricity.
